IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is proud to present The Old Evil , the comeback recording of cult German black metallers BAXAXAXA, on 12" vinyl and CD formats.

THE CULT IS ALIVE! Once thought long dead, existing as they did during the ancient days of the early '90s, BAXAXAXA publicly arose from the dead in 2018 with an exclusive performance at the esteemed Destroying Texas Fest and then a gig in their native Germany. Feeling scorn for nowadays black metal and wishing to stir the cauldron of yore, the now-quintet quickly recorded The Old Evil and released it on cassette tape in October 2019. The title itself should say more than enough: The Old Evil is exactly what it fucking is! Ugly 'n' primitive riffs, hammering rhythms, raw 'n' rotten recording, and hauntingly medieval synths - simply put, BAXAXAXA create black metal out of time! And out of touch, as it should stay, and will remain...back to the coffin they rest.

Le Vampire et le Sorcier : non, je ne parle pas d'un film fantastique ou de romance gothique qui serait passé sous votre radar mais d'un split qui réunit Old Nick (sa dernière sortie de 2020, qui aura comporté un autre split, deux albums et sept E.P.) et Hex Clock. Si le premier est inégalable, le talent du second se confirme déjà. Le raw black metal des deux artistes est épique, drôle, absurde, brut de décoffrage mais il charme, il ensorcelle. Pour Forest of Grief, son premier album, Old Nick décide de passer aux choses sérieuses : une pochette lugubre en nuances de gris chargée de symboles satanistes dessinée par un vrai graphiste, des thèmes mélancoliques et mortuaires à la pelle, et enfin un raw black metal médiéval. Mais pas de demi mesure chez Old Nick : les synthés ont le droit à leur quart d'heure de gloire. Accordéons, chiptune et effets en tous genres nous entraînent vers un passé ancien mais pas comme on s'y attend. Décalé ! Jordan Vauvert
