IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS is proud to present From the Mist...We are but Dust, a special split LP between SUNSPELL and SAUDADE. Two otherwise unknown hordes, From the Mist...We are but Dust features exclusive songs from both bands, and jointly serves a concise 'n' cutting introduction to both.

Hailing from America, SUNSPELL is one-man entity that brews forth a bewitching sort of black metal that maintains a distant, ghostly air whilst remaining palpably physical. As such, both of SUNSPELL's contributions here are double-digit epics, ominously drifing like funeral fog but grinding the listener into dirt by side's end. Canada's SAUDADE also grind the listener into dirt on their side of the split LP, but in an entirely different-yet-complementary manner. A power-trio, SAUDADE's attack is equally built upon blackgrinding bestiality and black metal's fundamentally punk origins, pulsing filth with alarming economy. Together, From the Mist...We are but Dust is aptly fucking titled: enter, and end.

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Listening to this on shrooms was haunting, which made it into a serious trip! Which was a mistake I was not prepared for. I do have something to say about it though on why I think it such. I have personally experienced several tipi ceremonies. One would stay up through the night, consuming peyote, doing in some sense a molting process and does so by connecting you to the spirit world. This album does this, but different - I say it transcends that experience, and does it well... On shrooms. zaphexa
